Monday mornings are always the perfect opportunity to reflect on all the things I meant to (but didn’t) do over the weekend, and thus feel terrible about myself.

Things Jews Hope For
When I have a child, I hope he/she inherits my new nose and not my old one.
My Past 3 Weeks, By the Numbers:
- Money I saved on meals– roughly $1000
- Money I saved on wine– roughly $500
- Money I saved on cab fare– roughly $100
- Money I saved shopping– roughly $200
Having my mom and dad here in NYC for these past 3 weeks?
Turns out not so priceless.
Below Sea Level
If you strap on your scuba gear and go far down into the deep sea, well below the plankton and crustaceans — there, tangled up in the deadest of seaweed, you’ll find my expectations for this first date.
Party Planning
If I have a son one day, at the bris I am going to serve mini hotdogs with the tips snipped off.
The fact that I’m so excited about this idea is a pretty good indicator that I’m not ready to have kids.
Things I Learned the Hard Way
That Person
I am now that person who goes around showing pictures of the baby. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned being single and childless in my 30s, it’s that everyone loves that person.
Zen
I spent all day panicking that I wouldn’t have any time to meditate today.
There’s a chance I’m missing the point.
Yup.
Kid: “Did your nephew come out yet?!”
Me: “Yes! Finally!”
Kid: “Through a cut in the belly, or through the hoo-ha?”
Me: “Oh. Um. I think that’s maybe a little bit too personal a question for me to answer.”
Kid (smug): “Definitely through the hoo-ha then.”
