Therapist: “Just so you know, I do not read your blog. As your therapist, I think it’s a conflict of interest, and actually a patient privacy issue. So if we’re ever in a session and you refer to something you’ve written about, just know I haven’t already read it– not because I don’t WANT to, but out of respect for the doctor/patient relationship.”
Me: “Oh my gosh, of course, I totally get and respect that you don’t read it– that makes complete sense!”
Bitch.
My friends know exactly who to contact when they do something stupid and want to feel better about themselves.
Then, several texts later…
A lot of you have been asking me if this guy is now paranoid that I am going to blog everything he says/does.
Nah. I don’t think so. Why?
So, this happened last night.
And you’ve all been asking what his reaction was.
Well, he’s now spent a good chunk of time reading the blog today and…
That moment when you’re on a 6th date with someone, and you’re wondering how you should tell him about the fact that you have a blog about dating (slash mental health…slash teaching…slash family…slash most details of your everyday existence). So you resolve to tell him soon, but first you want to go back and delete any weird posts he might be referenced in.
That subsequent moment when, as you’re thinking all this, a guy sitting at the next table from you and your date leans over and says, “Hi, sorry, I don’t mean to interrupt, but I think we went to high school together. I read your blog!”
So, yeah. He knows now.
Nothing feels better than running right by your ex boyfriend in the park, giving a hearty hello, and being silently glared at in return.
He must read the blog, guys!
The boom of social media has made it really difficult for me to wear the same exact outfit every day.

Um, obviously in the first or second month.
After our first grandchild is born.
At that point he’ll be pretty locked in.
