Every time I get a haircut I think about chopping it all off and donating it to Locks Of Love, but it hardly seems like a good deed to give someone Jewish hair.

That Kind of Job
I was just saying how grateful I am not to have the kind of job where I actually have to brush my hair in the morning, and then someone pointed out that I do. I do have that kind of job.
Oh.
Well this is brand new information.
Do As I Say, Not As I Do
One of our school mottos is “Be yourself– everyone else is already taken.”
So on the first day with the kids tomorrow, my also jewish, white, 30-something co-teacher and I are going to wear matching dresses, necklaces, and hairstyles.
Because leading by example is overrated and hard.
But wearing matching outfits is adorable and fun!

Sometimes I need things like this to happen so that I feel better about myself and the few things I do know about how life works.
Not Sure THIS Is Good
Yesterday was “twin day” at school, so my coteacher and I coordinated clothing.
Parent: “You two look so adorable in your outfits! You look like little school-aged girls!”
I wear this outfit once a week.
I MUST have that
I just did that awkward thing where I stopped someone walking by to ask her where she got her outfit, because it’s so damn cool and classy, and I just HAVE to have it.
But sadly she didn’t know where she got it.
Because her mom got it.
Because she’s 10.
This Lady
Lady in dressing room (to saleswoman): “I feel like this dress is way too short.”
Saleswoman: “That’s because it’s a shirt, ma’am.”
Oh how sad. Try again next time, lady.
Alright fine that lady was me.
